Description

Universal Access Program Canoeing. Open to persons with disabilities and their families, caregivers, and friends.

Experience wilderness canoeing on pristine Pottapaug Pond! Over 2 miles to explore with islands, coves, and wildlife. Gentle canoe/fishing opportunity, distance and pace to be determined by the group. Bring your lunch, drinking water, and other necessary supplies as there are no concessions nearby. Bring your own fishing gear if you already know how to fish and would like to do so.

Instruction, adaptive equipment, and assistance as needed provided. 

Pre-registration required. Participants can call 413-584-2052 to pre-register for a a time slot during the program hours. 

You can sign up for 4 out of the 6 sessions based on availability.

The fee is $8.

All programs are wheelchair accessible and there is an accessible bathroom. Please call for more accessibility information.

We meet at Quabbin Fishing Area #3 on Hell Huddle Rd. Petersham

DIRECTIONS FROM:
From Exit 8 of Interstate 90 (the Mass. Pike):
After the tollbooths, turn left at the stoplight onto Route 32 North
(Ware/Hardwick)
At mile 7.3, just after Massachusetts National Guard building in
Ware, turn left onto Gould Road.
At mile 8.0, at stop sign, turn right onto Belchertown Road/West
Main Steet.
At mile 8.3, turn left onto Eagle Street.
At mile 8.9, turn right onto Willow Street.
At mile 9.0, turn left onto Greenwich Road.
At mile 16.8, make a sharp left at the Gate 43 sign and then a right
onto Hell Huddle Road.
At mile 18.4, arrive at boat rental and launch area.
